Knowing the Mental Illnesses and Diagnosis

What is diagnosis? Many individuals dispute mental illnesses claiming the mental illnesses don’t exist. Counselors in many cases are diagnosing individuals every day, and also to understand the symptoms and diagnosis you have to understand the underlying and overlying controversies that fall between. Mental health is crucial for everyday life. There are numerous signs that illustrate mental illness and often people disregard these symptoms like a misconstrued degree of understanding relating to the patients part.

The truth is, when a person has a common denominator he / she often thinks clearly without interruptions, however when an individual is constant interruption there’s probably an issue existing. Medical and mental go together and that’s where doctors, psychiatrists, psychologists, counselors, and there are others will often be confused. The underlying problems lay somewhere within belief, tradition, miscommunication and so on. Should you be treating an individual believed to have some sort of mental illness, you should seriously consider and understand where I’m at. Many professionals, individuals, political leaders, among others are prompted to alter the way we approach and believe, think, feel, etc, changing us to comply with another individual’s method of thinking and so on. Read between the lines and you may see a component of the issue already. When we are trying to help change what another individual believes it’s stepping on toes. Whenever you step on toes, you will find obvious consequences and often people did not realize why they’re a component of that consequence.

How to Manage Your Stress

Once my stress gets out of hand, all h**l breaks lose. Simple things like eating and sleeping become utter chores.

When I’m stressed out, it’s much harder to stay raw. I can’t maintain an exercise routine. My sleep is disturbed.

And you just better pray you’re not anywhere near me if I’ve had more than a couple nights of less than restful sleep.

In other words, the whole system fails. I simply can’t stay healthy when I’m stressed and I KNOW I’m not the only one.

How to Manage Your Stress

It’s not meditating.

It’s not taking a nap or drinking chamomile tea.

Just like ingesting an Ibuprofen to alleviate your headache, these tactics only help to alleviate the symptoms. They don’t come anywhere close to the cause.

To do that, you have to get to the root of your problem and figure out what’s contributing to your stress in the first place.

For me, this means tackling the workaholic and perfectionist in me who says, “If I’m not constantly working, then I’m not working hard enough, and if my work isn’t “perfect,” then I’m not working hard enough!” and has me setting ridiculous daily goals for myself that I can’t possibly meet while at the same time reducing my leisure activities to almost nil.

Before I know it, I’m overworking, under-eating, and having mad cravings for all kinds of cooked food comforts.

So what do I do to combat this? I set reasonable goals, plan out my work periods for the day, make sure to leave ample relaxation time and VOILA! I’m more productive, more relaxed, and stress-free!

In other words, I DO SOMETHING about it! I don’t just read lots of stress management articles (like this one). I don’t just sit down to a self-help book. I apply that information to my own life and put it to work as soon as possible.

It’s just like with going raw.

You can read all the raw food literature you want or watch as many raw recipe videos on YouTube as humanly possible. It won’t mean diddly squat if the only raw food you eat is an ounce of lettuce under a mountain of Ranch dressing or a sprig of parsley with your Chicken Carbonara.

You have to actually EAT RAW FOODS to experience the benefits!

Putting It All Together

So if you want to stay raw, maintain an effective exercise program, and obtain overall health, you’ve got to get your stress under control. To do that, you have to figure out what causes your stress, develop techniques for managing it, and then get to work!

As Nike says, JUST DO IT!:D

Hyperactive Children and How to Deal with Their Problem

If we try to find out the number of children who are having numerous problems like Development Delay or may be Attention Deficit Disorder or having any such learning disabilities then our search may never have an end or we may have a huge number or ratio. That is a very unfortunate matter as with the technological advancement we are growing in various fields but we are not so powerful to give them any help or any such solution to such children so that they can deal with their problem and can live a normal life just like any other child.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders hyperactivity is another part of such learning disabilities and the children having this problem cannot cope up with the normal surrounding of a normal school. They find it difficult to cope up with the other normal children and it is difficult for them to carry on with the normal process of learning with other normal children. They face a lot of trouble in such normal schools. Basically such students are more impulsive than normal children and can be really unwanted to other students of the same class due to their behavior, which is often dangerous for the students having Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders.

The surroundings of normal schools with the normal students and teachers and the playmates cannot give justice to their abnormal behavior and they also can face numerous problems. So there is no doubt that both sides will face tremendous problems with each other, which may occur huge hamper for both ends. Generally people who do not much information about that this is a real, problem and the children are not at all in the general stream of life may face some serious problems with them and may try ignoring them and disliking which is also something very harmful for the children of such problems. They can get more irritated.

There is no doubt about the fact that the children with hyperactive problems are very difficult to handle with the normal process. Even sometimes the parents cannot manage them and can handle them in the proper way. You much provide them some flexibility; as such children prefer to go on their own terms otherwise they may become very hyperactive. But you must be aware and should give a limitation as well so they cannot do any hamper to any other or even to them as well. There must be some kind of disposition if you give them some rules and regulations to follow, you become more strict they will be much more harder than your level. That will be really dangerous. It is recommended to reduce the amount of sugar in their diet as survey says that the level of sugar can perform as a trigger to the children having the problem of hyperactivity. Sugar actually instigates the hyperactivity to the children having the problem.

Try to bring them into some kind of routine and you have to do this with their agreement. You cannot force them to maintain some routine; they have to accept this by their own terms. Otherwise they never go on this process and if you force they will do against you. So it is essential to keep patience and make your decision acceptable to the children so that you never have to force them. They can adopt the process thorough their own eagerness. For this you need to know their likings. Another thing is very important to notice. Just try to avoid drinks with caffeine; as such beverages can be very harmful as they stimulate hyperactivity. They also need soothing atmosphere all the time so that they never are irritated with some crowd or any hassle.

Where to Get Help for ADHD

There are lots of ADHD resources out there for parents of ADHD kids. You just need to know where to look. In this article I want to outline where and how you can find these ADHD resources and how they can help you to raise a happy well adjusted child which is probably the aim of all parents worldwide!

Educational resources
Any child who may have a learning disability because of ADHD or any other reason may be entitled to accommodations or special education services to help him or her so that the differences are compensated for. The laws covering this in the USA are the IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.

These laws are in place to guarantee that every child, regardless of ability, gets a free and appropriate education. The US Department of Education has published a resource guide for home and school to guide you through all this. This is probably the most comprehensive of all the ADHD resources although I noticed that it has not been updated in the last few years. In some states, ADHD does not automatically entitle the child to special education services.

Web resources
There are a host of resources on the Internet and one great idea is to join a forum where you can get lots of support, advice and ask questions. All you have to do is Google ‘ADHD forums’ and choose which one is suitable for you. Some are for adults with ADHD only while others tend to be for parents with ADHD kids.

Apart from the forums, there are many sites specializing in ADHD and offering advice and support. Some are sponsored by drug companies who produce psychostimulant drugs for ADHD. Then there is CHADD and also the National Resource Center on AD/HD (NRC) which all offer sound advice. There is also a lot of information on the CDC and the FDA sites.

Some Tips on ADHD Parenting Techniques

It can be very frustrating at times trying to figure out ADHD parenting techniques. The first step is building self confidence in your child as well as yourself and this is done with communication skills. Lack of attention and comprehension can lead to misunderstandings with your child if your communication skills are not fine tuned to the circumstances of a child with ADHD.

The top ADHD parenting tips are;

–Your must be very specific in asking your child what it is that you are expecting of them.

–Consistency with your instructions is very important. Repeat often, use praise and pay attention to their thoughts and ideas. Really listen to them.

–Make sure they get plenty of sleep; at least 10 hours minimum. Children tire more easily especially the younger ones so try and plan a slower paced day of activities. Make sure they have healthy snacks avoiding sodas and candy. Do not skip any meals and try to have them at the same times each day. If an ADHD child knows what to expect with a structured routine there is less likelihood of an outburst or behavioral problem.

–Have a quiet time the both of you can share every day and which they will look forward to like a warm bath and story at the end of the day or a quiet time together before the afternoon nap.

Making the child feel secure along with a steady, reliable ADHD parenting schedule can help ease the frustration of behavioral problems. If a child feels secure they will become more self confident. And when a child, especially one with ADHD is self confident they will thrive, feel calmer and want to please your more with acceptable behavior.
